Print London invites you to join us for an Artist Talk by artist Tim Laurin on Thursday, June 29 at 7:00pm (EDT).
Tim’s talk is the third in a virtual talk series:
Exploring Intaglio - Making Conceptual Magic
Working from his home studio in Peterborough, Ontario, Tim Laurin focuses on exploring the possibilities of printmaking, experimenting with new approaches to traditional methods and expanding his visual language. His printmaking practice includes intaglio as well as large-format woodcut prints, and mokuhanga prints. As a member of the Metis Nation of Ontario, he often draws on his connection to history and nature in his work.
Tim graduated from Sheridan College School of Design in 1985 and later earned a graduate degree in Print from York University. He was a founding member of PRNT, a print collective in Barrie Ontario and he recently retired from Georgian College where he led the Printmaking department. His work is found in several public collections in Canada such as the Royal Ontario Museum, Art Gallery of Burlington, and Peel Art Gallery Museum and Archives. He was awarded the second prize in Print London’s The Ontario Miniature Print Exhibition (TOMPE2022).
