Upcoming Exhibition

Print London is excited to present …fire. A lot more fire., curated by distinguished London artist Ron Benner. Please join us between August 21 - 30 for the exhibition and on August 24 for the opening reception, where Ron Benner will give opening remarks.

…fire. A lot more fire. showcases the work of London and area artists who took up the challenge to produce prints in a wide variety of print media - relief, etching, lithography, silkscreen, vitreograph prints - based on a theme of the effects of climate change on the Canadian landscape.

On May 26, 2019 in an article "Wildfires rage while politicians bluster" in the Toronto Star, Mike Flanagan, a professor of wildland fire at the University of Alberta, said, "On average, we're going to see fire. A lot more fire." " ...fire. A lot more fire." became the title of this juried print exhibition. On August 2, 2019 two articles in The Globe and Mail, "Arctic heatwave sparks massive wild fires, surge of greenhouse gases from tundra" and "European heatwave hits Greenland" highlighted the emergency situation which is upon us. In remote areas above the arctic circle there are now over 60 wildfires burning with no human possibility of extinguishing them. The 11 artists in this exhibition have each responded to this crisis in their own way and I thank them for their contribution. We must all work together if we are to survive this century.
