TOMPE2020
The Ontario Miniature Print Exhibition
July 29 - August 15, 2020 at Satellite Project Space - London Ontario
Print London was pleased to present the third edition of The Ontario Miniature Print Exhibition (TOMPE2020). First held in 2016, entries to this juried show have continued to increase as the exhibition gains ground in the professional printmaking community.
Despite the highly unusual circumstances caused by the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, the Ontario born / resident artists whose works are represented here rose to the occasion, and for this we are grateful. Submissions came from far and wide; from Thunder Bay to Hamilton, and Windsor to Montreal, and from as far away as Ireland. Some artists had exhibited in TOMPE before and others were new to the exhibition. We welcome and thank them all for having faith in us during those topsy-turvy times.
Exhibition Jurors:
Helen Gregory, Curator, McIntosh Gallery
Libby Hague, Independent Artist
Andrew Kear, Head of Collections, Exhibitions and Programs, Museum London
Our three Jurors also deserve our hearty thanks. Unlike previous editions of TOMPE, they were tasked with viewing the works online in a virtual Zoom meeting. Each work was studied and discussed in detail. It can be difficult to appreciate the materiality of small-scale, intimate works through a digital translation on a computer screen. Fortunately, once the exhibition was installed, they were able to visit the gallery and view the works in person.
Congratulations to all the artists in the show and our prize winners:
First Prize: Karen Fletcher
Second Prize: Colette Riddle
Third Prize: Andrew Moore
Honourable Mention: Susan Cartwright
Honourable Mention: Robert Creighton
Honourable Mention: Bev Funnell
Honourable Mention: Zane Pate
Honourable Mention: Cathy Senitt

TOMPE2020 was supported by the London Arts Council through the City of London's Community Arts Investment Program. (CAIP). We are thankful for this generous funding, without which the exhibition and catalogue would not have been possible. https://www.londonarts.ca/
